Legislative update [September 30, 2011 edition] [part 3]

SG President Ayden Maher vetoed BRHB-11-31, which would’ve put $5,700 towards a Halloween Horror Nights trip for Lambda United and Residential Students Association.

When asked why, Maher referenced another Halloween trip SG is doing for students — to Busch Gardens’ annual Howl-o-Scream. That one will send up to 160 students this year.

“This trip,” Maher said of Halloween Horror Nights, “is for only 25 people, and in my opinion, that is very unnecessary.”

The bill will be on the agenda at tomorrow’s Boca House meeting.
